The earthenware, despite its glazing technique that reduces porosity still has a higher water absorption rate compared to stoneware due to its natural properties. This makes it more susceptible to stains. However, with careful use, an appreciation for its distinctive character and authentic craftsmanship, it becomes indispensable for daily use.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: After purchase, follow these care instructions only once: Boil a liter of water with a handful of salt or lime, then pour it into a large container. Add room temperature water. Submerge the clay pieces, ensuring all pieces are covered. Let them rest overnight, then wash them like any other dishes the next day. When in use, wash the clay directly afterward. Avoid using steak knives. Apply organic coconut oil occasionally to prevent stains and maintain a natural patina.
