CLAY

IRON AND ASH

Handmade glazes, crafted from ingredients like burned plants, are produced in the fields of Oaxaca. The color varies dramatically depending from settings or temperature even though same glaze is used.

The high-fired stoneware from the Iron and Ash Series was crafted by the artist and ceramics master Rodrigo Treviño. Following an ancient tradition rooted in Asiatic cultures, Treviño uses various organic species that occur naturally for the glazing. In this series, he employs corn-ash ingredients to achieve a unique finish.
