Of all the arts created by man, basketry is probably one of the oldest, transmitted through the history of any human civilization and closely tied to nature. It probably even predates the discovery of fire. Palm weaving techniques reflect Mexican culture, preserving ancient methods and contributing to the appreciation and conservation of the world's cultural heritage.
Our palm baskets are hand woven by artisans of the cacti desert of central-southern Mexico where the green palm is native. In pre-hispanic cultures of Mesoamerica the baskets were originally made to gather food or for storing and transporting goods. Our traditionally woven palm products for modern contemporary settings are characterized by a particularly fine weave and minimalist design.
Canasta Atarraya
The Canasta Atarraya is a beautiful hand-woven palm basket from the Cañada region of Oaxaca. Its organic shape and elegance is captivating. The fine woven palm fibers are very flexible and will last long when kept in a dry place. The incorporated black fibers are naturally dyed with copal resin. The basket is perfect to store textiles, toys or anything dry. The use as a flower pot only with waterproof bottom tray.

Canasta Cacti
The Canasta Cacti is an extra-fine hand-woven palm basket made by indigenous craftswomen in the Cañada region of Oaxaca.
This basket captivates through its extra-fine weave and simple design. This super light basket comes with a lid and can store anything dry. The palm fibers are very flexible and will last long when kept in a dry place.

Bird´s Feet
The Bird´s feet or "patitas de pájero" are brushes made of natural palm fibers handcrafted in the Cañada region of Oaxaca. Originally used to remove residues from the comal, to push different ingredients while they are heating or toasting. The palm fibers are very flexible and will last long when kept in a dry place.

The Tousled Beard is a pendant light delicately woven from palm fibers in the Cañada region of Oaxaca. The naturally left fringes contribute to a wild yet elegant feel.
